PCIM Europe 2023 – Power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy, and energy management

The PCIM Europe is the leading international exhibition and conference for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy, and energy management. This is the place where representatives from research and industry come together, where trends and developments are presented to the public for the first time, and where the entire value chain is covered – all the way from components to intelligent systems.

A digital platform will be available, with live streaming, on demand presentations as well as exhibitor and product profiles.

At the PCIM Europe 2023, Fraunhofer IISB will present the broad spectrum of its activities – from semiconductor material and components to system development. Highlights include among others:

  • In live demos, we will show the performance of our new software LiWiCalc®. LiWiCalc is the fastest and most accurate tool to calculate all dominant power losses in high frequency litz wires. Realistic twisting and bundle structures with several hundreds of strands can be resolved and analyzed within seconds. Models with more than 15.000 strands and copper fill factors of up to 70% provide the potential to optimize the wire losses of inductive power transfer systems for any load category.
  • The student junior research group Evolonic, with which Fraunhofer IISB is cooperating, will present their latest developments in flying drones and will show how the drones are used for forest fire detection.
  • Our colleague Jordan Sorge from our Drives and Mechatronics group will present his latest research results on high performance GaN inverters for high-speed applications.
