HANNOVER MESSE 2026

Under the motto “Innovations for our Future,” the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft will present its latest solutions at HANNOVER MESSE 2026. Nine Fraunhofer institutes and groups, together with the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD), will be showcasing technologies for a resilient, sustainable and digitally networked industry.

Across the entire value chain - from materials to devices and modules to systems - Fraunhofer IISB addresses key future challenges in energy and industrial electronics. This is complemented by the wide-bandgap (WBG) pilot line and innovative material developments such as AlN, which open new possibilities for high-performance electronics. At the Fraunhofer booth we will show, among others, the following exhibits:

• Highly efficient 800-Volt silicon carbide inverter based on 1200-Volt SiC MOSFETs
• Silicon carbide power devices and high-temperature CMOS circuits from the IISB foundry
• Single crystal 4H silicon carbide substrates that enable efficient and robust devices for power electronics

Furthermore, Fraunhofer IISB (together with ZVEI, Fraunhofer IIS, and TU Darmstadt) is showcasing a demonstrator (motor, inverter, software) from the “Drive 4.0” project at the

booth of "Platform Industry 4.0" (Hall 13, C24).
